Most of our many books are packed away in boxes and in storage in a barn in Leon, Northern Spain.
But as we are all avid readers some reading material has had to find it's way here with us.
I was rather amused to see the selection that I picked up from floor, table and chair this morning as I did a cursory tidy around our flat.
What are you reading?
Another total book-worm here, Annie. At the minute I'm reading "Dead in the Water" by Carola Dunn, a rather fun Agatha Christie-type mystery set in the 1920s. At the same time I'm browsing through the local community magazine for North-West Sutherland which is where we are at the moment. Always something on the go....
ReplyDeleteYou've got quite a selection. haha. I just finished reading a book called Half-Broke Horses which is the follow up to The Glass Castle both by Jeanette Walls. Awesome books! They are the memoirs of a woman who grew up in poor rural towns throughout the US with an alcoholic father and a wacky mother. She was able to transend the odds against her and become quite an accomplished adult. A true "Pick Yourself Up by The Boot Straps" kind of story. Now, I am reading The Girls from Ames: A Story of Women and Friendship/ This is an account of 11 women who were childhood friendas and remained friends well into adulthood and how their lives intertwined through marriages, divorces, becoming mothers, etc. So far I am liking it.
ReplyDeleteI really welcome some recommended good reading material. It's not too long til my birthday so I'll start making a list!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your ideas. Ax
