Bump, bump, bump
“Here is Edward Bear, coming downstairs now, bump, bump, bump, on the back of his head, behind Christopher Robin. It is, as far as he knows, the only way of coming downstairs, but sometimes he feels that there really is another way, if only he could stop bumping for a moment and think of it”
I used to have this picture and these words on my wall at work. It was helpful to explain why people always seemed to do what they had always done. I used to try to stop the bumping long enough for them to find better ways of doing things. It often worked a treat!
However, I am unable to take my own advice and just wanted to apologise to my favourite bloggers for not commenting on any of their recent posts. I am unable to do so - I get an error message, which is even more irritating as it's in Spanish - and I don't have a moment to work out what the problem is.
So for now, I shall just carry on bumping along and hope I find time to stop sometime soon!

I'm trying for the second time to post this comment... straight onto the blog site, rather than via the fb link.... interesting to see if that works. It is a lovely post....you will be forgiven by all those whose blogs you read and comment on, and maybe Perpetua can solve it for us. J.
ReplyDeleteYup... seems to work, so maybe its the link through face book that is the problem. Jx
ReplyDeleteI am having the same problem ... hence you probably won's see this!
ReplyDeleteAha, but you can see it, how odd!
ReplyDeleteAnnie try resetting everything in your Blogger settings, as in reselect whatever settings you have and resave them. And delete temp files and cookies from your computer, that has apparently fixed it for me.
I'll try posting this using name/url and not my google id to see if it makes any difference.
So strange - just seeing if i can leave a comment. Love the pic! So cute.
ReplyDeleteHi Annie,
ReplyDeleteLove the cute pic...Have a great weekend!
Poor Annie. It's so frustrating when this happens. Thanks for letting us know and I do hope it sorts itself out soon, as your comments are missed. I'm finding that I keep getting an error message when I try to open blogs from Google Reader in order to comment. Grr!!
ReplyDeleteMy God, this sounds exactly how I have been feeling, 'Bump, bump, bump.' Just caught in the same loop and unable to exit because you're too busy being in the loop... Thanks Annie for putting up the adorable picture as well. My big question is, 'Do we bump down the steps of our own accord, or is some unseen and childlike hand doing it for us?' : ) Can we really be as crazy as to do that ourself? It would be nice to be able to blame some other entity but sadly I feel that I can do stupid things without help...
ReplyDeleteThis picture says it all for me - sometimes I'm like Pooh but sometimes I'm like Christopher Robin, insisting my children do things in certain way, at a certain time, or because I want them to - I'm sure they feel like Pooh then. The trick is to challenge everything - ourselves included. Axxx
