Footprints...

I love footprints.

I love them on a deserted beach

On newly-fallen snow

I love prints of babies' feet - little chunky smudges.

And of course, the image of dinosaur footprints - herds of them - lumbering across the Jurassic Coast of northern Spain...with some rather younger models from the modern era...

And I was enchanted to find this lovely word cloud maker that has allowed me to make a word footprint from my blog.

Love it!

    1. Thank you, Maria. On the original 'cloud', you can hover over individual words so you can see even the small ones. I 've also recently discovered a 'Virtual Thesaurus' which allows you to look at links between words. Love words! Axx

  2. Hello Annie:
These very splendid images convey exactly the appeal of footprints about which you write here. We particularly like those in the sand on the sea shore not least for the way in which they are, of course, so very transitory. More so than in snow which, if the weather is really cold, can last for days if not weeks.

    1. Thank you Jane and Lance - lovely to hear from you again! I love watching the sea wiping clean the beach - of footprints or whatever. I also love seeing bird footprints on the beach too. And yes - they are always more transitory than snowy ones!

  3. The foot shaped word cloud would make a lovely image for a New Baby card.........little tiny baby footprints with baby inspired words. x

    1. I love the way some people can immediately see a creative opportunity from a little wistful thought! What an excellent idea...Axxx

  4. My experience of footprints has been more of one with paw prints...trying to work out what is creeping round the hen house and tracking it down...but I did like the 'cloud'...and the idea of the virtual thesaurus....

    1. Thanks Fly; I agree that unwelcome visitors' prints is not quite the same as a baby's foot - we like tracking animal prints in the forests round here but we're never too worried that we'll find something unpleasant waiting for us at the end of the trail! The virtual thesaurus is great. Axxx

  5. I like the concept that travellers should "take only photographs, leave only footprints"

    1. Absolutely Annie. I've also heard, 'take only memories, leave only footprints' - like 'em both. Axxx

  6. It's about making a mark, even ina small way, as we live our lives, knowing that mostly the mark is temporary - until we make another one!

Love the pics and the cloud.

    1. You're quite right, Gaynor. Most of us want to make a little mark, somewhere, somehow - and how good it is that most of them are temporary. I didn't mention carbon footprints, though it was in my mind as I was writing. That's something we should definitely try and reduce. Axxx

  7. Gorgeous photos and a thought-provoking post, Annie. The word cloud footprint is enormously appealing and I must investigate further....

What is the weather coming to? You have snow and we haven't seen a flake so far!

    1. My mistake, Perpetua - I used images from the internet that were freely available so didn't acknowledge their source. However, Granada - just a few minutes away from us and although I was taking the easy way out - with little effort, I could have made these tracks myself...promise I will next time! Axx
PS - the dinosaur footprints photo is from our summer holiday 'up north'!
